Oven Adventures

On Friday morning I got a text message, “What are you doing today?”. It was from one of my bff’s who lives in Calgary. That get’s translated to “I’m in town randomly with no notice and wanna know if you wanna hang out?” I happen to be free, which usually happens when she comes in to town, strangely enough. So we are hanging out and I happen to mention Cookie Butter. Well, she had never heard of it. O-M-G

I’ve been hoarding a package of Oreo’s in the cupboard for months.  I knew that if I opened them with no specific recipe in mind they would be gone before I could make anything.

Then the idea hit me. I wanted those oreo stuffed cookies I’ve seen everywhere. I had a friend coming over with her 2 twin two year old boys and thought perfect. I won’t be left alone with a tray of warm gooey chocolate chip cookies with an entire Oreo stuffed inside.

In Vancouver every year for the last 101 years they have the Pacific National Exibition (PNE).  It’s a giant fair in the city.  We went this year and it was super fun.  We skipped the rides but totally hit the food, of course.  I got a Poutine Dog. It was a hot dog covered in fries, gravy and cheese on a pretzel bun.  Annddd bacon.  Oh my it was good. –keep reading

My mom and I went to the States a couple of weeks ago.  I wanted to go down to Target and get some baking supplies.  I hear about all these cool things from other bloggers that I wanted to try.  I got a bundt pan and saved $15.  Crazy right?  I also got Baking: From My Home to Yours By Dorie Greenspan for $15 dollars less.  Woo Hoo.
