I have been a total blog failure lately.  I’ve basically ignored the computer for weeks.  Sometimes life just gets in the way.  First, it was Little Misters birthday party, then birthday, then summer decided to show up for a week.  There were picnics and water parks and reading outside in the sun.  Flip flops, suntan lotion and bbqs.  It was amazing.

I am running a 10k race this Sunday, it’s called the Vancouver Sun Run. There are around 50,000 participating. It’s always been in the back of my head since I was a teenager that I wanted to do it. I never thought I would. Things changed for me just about a year ago when a group (Red Faced Runners) on Twitter decided to challenge everyone to complete a 5k. This will be my 3rd race in less than a year.

I have a confession.  I have NO willpower.  There was a giant bag of mini eggs sitting in the cupboard and I could not leave them alone.  I tried.  I tried everything.  I moved them, I pretended they weren’t there, calling my name.  I thought about the amount of calories I was inhaling.  There was nothing I could do, I was broken under the incredible force of the delicious, mouth watering, crunchy, chocolatey mini egg.

So I was wondering through Costco the other night and noticed these jars that I hadn’t seen before. I walked past them twice then finally stopped to actually read what it said. “Cookinotti – Made with crushed caramelized butter cookies” ahhh ok. Then the magic words, the words I have been dying to read for what feels like forever “Speculoos Spread”. Jackpot!!!!! Oh my dears there is finally, finally Cookie Butter/ Biscoff in Canada!!!!

The weather is beginning to change here in Vancouver.  It’s moving from a cold, dreary rain to a lighter, brighter rain.  hahaha.   It’s so nice to finally see the buds on the trees.  I have daffodils in my garden.  The air smells differently. Spring is coming people!!!!  I love Spring for a lot of reasons but honestly it’s about flip flops and flowers.
