Rice Krispie Pops
2 Aug
Little Miss is obsessed with My Little Pony right now. It was Strawberry Shortcake but that is now passe and it’s all about the ponies. Well the pony’s new home is my silicone loaf pan. I went into her room last night to turn out her light and there she was with blankets over her head, ponies everywhere and a loaf pan beside her head. I had to laugh. She takes these ponies everywhere with her. She has the books and even the movie from the 80′s with danny di veto as one of the voices (totally random).
Well here is an easy kid friendly treat. Rice Krispie Pops.
VERDICT
These are the perfect bbq/birthday party kid friendly treat. The kids go crazy over them and then all of a sudden you look over and the adults are all walking around with them too.
1/4 c butter
6 c rice Krispies
40 large marshmallows
1 package candy melts
24 lollipop sticks
4 paper plates

Take 4 paper plates and poke pen size holes about 3 inches part around the outside and one in the middle. Set on a tall glass.
In a pot or mircowave melt butter and marshmallows, stir in Rice Krispies until very well mixed. Wait until the marshmallow is no longer super stringy.
Melt your candy melts as per the package directions.
Create a 1.5-2 inch dense ball with the rice Krispies and hold them around the lollipop stick. Make sure to form rice Krispies around the lollipop stick. Dip the top of the pop in candy melts and drop into a hole on the plate.
Repeat.
* I tried dipping the entire thing in candy melts and found it too sweet. Also, I tried to stand the pops in styroform but the rice krispies fell off. It didn’t seem to matter if we dipped the stick in the candy melts first or not so I would just skip it. Serve at room temp or slightly chilled.
Enjoy!
